Why dive with Deep Mexico in Playa del Carmen

More about us

We have spent 30 years diving in Playa del Carmen, the Riviera Maya and the cenotes, and we still get excited every time we head out. At Deep Mexico, we keep our groups small — usually no more than 4 to 6 divers — so you get more guide attention, more safety and more time to enjoy each dive.

Whether it is your first dive or your 500th, we help you choose the right experience — cenotes, Cozumel trips, PADI courses or seasonal encounters like bull sharks and whale sharks.

Small groups, local guidance and personalized dive planning in the Riviera Maya.

Why Dive with Deep Mexico?

Deep Mexico is a professional scuba diving and cenote tour operator based in Playa del Carmen, offering guided underwater experiences across the Riviera Maya. Whether you're a first-time diver or a certified pro, our small-group approach guarantees personalized attention, safety, and unforgettable moments beneath the surface.

Cenote Diving in the Riviera Maya — Our Specialty This Season

The Yucatán Peninsula is home to the world's largest underwater cave system, and cenote diving is one of the most unique experiences you can have as a diver. At Deep Mexico, we guide you through crystal-clear freshwater cenotes surrounded by ancient stalactites, mystical light rays, and the silence of a world hidden beneath the jungle floor.

Our cenote dives take place in spectacular sites near Playa del Carmen and Tulum. What's included: full diving equipment, wetsuit, dive guide, and safety briefing. Transportation from Playa del Carmen is included or can be arranged by prior agreement depending on your location.

Cozumel Reef Diving — The Caribbean at Its Best

Cozumel is one of the top five dive destinations in the world. The Mesoamerican Barrier Reef offers extraordinary visibility, vibrant coral formations, sea turtles, eagle rays, and nurse sharks. We operate Cozumel dives departing from Playa del Carmen as well as directly from Cozumel — whatever works best for your group.

Scuba Diving in Playa del Carmen

Right off the coast of Playa del Carmen lies a stunning reef system waiting to be explored. Spot moray eels, octopus, lobster, and tropical fish just minutes from shore. Ideal for beginners, refresher dives, and PADI Open Water courses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a certification to dive in a cenote?

Yes. Cenote diving requires a valid scuba certification (Open Water or higher). If you are not yet certified, we offer PADI Open Water courses in Playa del Carmen to get you ready before your cenote adventure.

How far are the cenotes from Playa del Carmen?

Most cenotes are 20 to 45 minutes away. Transportation is included or arranged by prior agreement.

Can I do Cozumel and a cenote on the same trip?

We recommend dedicating one full day to each. We can depart from Playa del Carmen or operate directly from Cozumel depending on your preference.
