The PADI Rescue Diver course is the ultimate challenge for scuba divers! It's known to be tough, but
also super rewarding.
In this course, you learn how to deal with any problems that might come up while diving, and because
of that, you become way more confident in your diving skills and feel like a superhero ready to save
the day!
You'll learn to be the best dive buddy ever by practicing how to solve problems together. And the
best part? It's not all serious – there are plenty of laughs and fun times in between all the
learning.
In this course, you'll take on some theories of emergency situations, as well as practice them for
real out in the deep.
This course starts with a day at the pool, as well as 4 dives over 2 days in the ocean, to really
put those skills into practice.
There are self-rescue skills to review before we introduce you to the main 10 rescue exercises.
You'll learn how to support a stressed diver, how to assist a tired diver, as well as advanced
search and recovery patterns and supporting unresponsive divers.
To take part in the rescue course, you need to be at least a PADI Adventure diver, or an Advanced
Open Water Diver, and at least 12 years old.
As part of this certification, you also need to have had Emergency First Response Primary and
Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months. You can complete this
training during the Rescue Diver course. Your instructor may also offer the PADI Emergency Oxygen
Provider specialty diver course at the same time.
