Are you a certified scuba diver looking to enhance your underwater experience? Look no further than
the PADI Enriched Air Diver course!
This course is PADI's most popular specialty scuba course, and for a good reason – it allows you to
stay underwater longer and get back in the water sooner, giving you more time to enjoy your dive.
The secret is the blend of enriched air, commonly known as ‘nitrox', which give you an increased
dive time. By breathing air with higher oxygen and lower nitrogen content, you reduce the risk of
decompression sickness and can spend more time underwater.
During the Enriched Air Diver course, you'll learn how to analyze the oxygen content in your tank,
manage your oxygen exposure, and set your dive computer for enriched air nitrox diving. You'll also
learn about the equipment considerations for diving with enriched air.
The course is mainly theory, with some practical exercises to analyze some tanks. There is a short
manual, or e-learning to read to become familiar with the safety and theory of nitrox diving. You
then get to experience 2 ocean dives, using this new gas mix to try it out and put what you learned
into practice.
It teaches you how to dive with enriched air and optimize certain dive profiles.
You must be Open Water certified and at least 12 years old.
You will learn how to analyze the tank, manage oxygen exposure and set up your computer for Nitrox.
