To enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver course (or Junior Open Water Diver course), you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required.

Once your course is completed, you'll be certified to dive to depths of 18meters, with a buddy. The PADI certification is recognized around the world, so no matter where your next vacation is, you'll have the skills and qualifications to dive wherever you are!

What can I do after completing the Open Water course in Playa del Carmen?

You will be able to dive as a certified diver to 18 meters with a buddy and use your certification worldwide.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations or changes made at least 24 hours in advance do not generate any charge. If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice or do not show up, 100% of the deposit will be charged. If Deep Mexico cancels due to weather or sea conditions and rescheduling is not possible, no charge applies.

How long does the PADI Open Water Certification take?

The PADI Open Water Course takes 3 days to complete, with some theory required.

Day 1 usually is a pool session, where we show you the skills needed to be learned to dive safely in our diver's pool. We will also look at the theory and knowledge reviews to ensure you understood the knowledge behind the sport.

On days 2 and 3 we take you to the ocean - or an open cenote - so you can repeat these skills in the open water. Plus, you'll finally be able to experience some of the fish and underwater beauty you've been longing to see! You'll do 2 dives each day, with your instructor there to support your learning, at your own pace.
